Are pre-emptive health scans worth it?
Hey team,
The first quarter of 2025 is officially done. We are now in Q2.
It’s the perfect time (not December) to reflect on the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year.
Ask yourself:
Has anything changed? Have any improvements been made? Are you happy with where you are?
If not, don’t panic. We’ve still got 3 quarters to get there.
A lot can change in 9 months if you lock in, focus and remain consistent.
Let’s do this!
This is 3 Easy Ways, my monthly newsletter where I share simple and actionable tips to get you moving, maximise your output and improve your overall week.

5 fitness red flags to avoid
Why Vitamin D is so important
Are full body health scans worth it?
1. 90% of people waste their time in the gym, don’t be that person…

A lot of clients come to me who already exercise regularly, but they aren’t seeing the results they want.
They are spending time in the gym but they aren’t hitting their goals like losing body fat or increasing muscle mass.
Here are the biggest reasons why:
Focusing on cardio only
❌ “I need to lose weight first” or “weights will make me look bulky” are sentences I commonly here when suggesting weight lifting.
✅ Endless cardio won’t improve your metabolism but weights will. Not incorporating progressive overload
❌ They are lifting the same weights every week and sticking to the same exercises for months.
✅ This leads to zero strength improvements, you need to be progressively pushing your body to see results.Random workout selection
❌ No set program personalised to them — switching between different classes and programs weekly.
✅ The most optimum way to progress is by having a structure that methodically targets each part of the body and gets harder.Poor form to hit higher numbers
❌ Performing half reps or no time under-tension.✅ Focus on mastering the movement before increasing your weight.
Skipping fundamentals
❌ Avoiding squats and deadlifts or focusing on too much isolation work.
✅ For best results you should primarily focus on compound movements and mobility improvements.
The best results come from consistent structures training, not random exercise with no intention.

2. Why Vitamin D is so important ☀️
The sun is shining in the UK and I’m begging you…
Take advantage of it.
Vitamin D is so important, but for us Brits we are often neglected of it.
A lot of people know it’s good for them but they don’t know why, so let me explain.
Vitamin D is responsible for:
Mood regulation
Immune support
Hormonal balance
Bone health
Better energy and sleep
But the MOST important reason:
It makes you feel like yourself again. More focused, grounded and alive.
Sunlight and spending time outside supports your circadian rhythm regulation. This means it keeps your body’s internal clock in sync and helps control sleep, energy, your mood and even your metabolism.
You can’t work to your best ability when you’re feeling flat.
So, here’s my advice…
→ Eat your lunch outside
→ Walk part of your commute
→ Take meetings outside where possible
→ Go on a 15 min walk after eating or before work
Get sunlight on your skin, even if it’s just for 15-30 minutes.
This is the simplest win for your health and one of the most overlooked.

Let’s talk maintenance…
Is it worth it?
You would never run a business without tracking the numbers and you wouldn’t drive a car without an MOT.
So why treat your body differently?
Neko Health, co-founded by Spotify’s Daniel Ek, has raised $260M and has a waitlist of over 100,000 people for its full-body scan.
Because maintenance matters.
Don’t wait until something breaks. Prevent it from breaking in the first place.
Neko’s full body scan provides real-time insights, AI-powered diagnostics and data that catches issues before they become problems.
All provided in a pastel-coloured, relaxing “spa-like” setting.
Now, the spa-like setting isn’t the important thing here. The testing is.
As we get older, especially after 35, what’s happening under the bonnet becomes more important than ever.
Fatigue, digestive issues, mood swings, hormonal changes are all signals and if you catch them earlier on they are easier to fix.
My advice…
If you’re 35 or older, start thinking about your health like you think about your work:
Measured, tracked and maintained.
That means regular blood tests, annual full-body check ins or scans like Neko (if you can get in).
You can’t perform at your highest level without knowing what’s going on inside.
And, money spent on maintenance is never wasted.
Have you ever had a body MOT?
